Join us as Kenny Loh, a Nyonya Kebaya and Manek shoemaker, artist and photographer, as well as the founder of Kenny Loh Couture and Penang Nyonya Culture by Nyonya Heritage Art, shares his experience from being a Master Degree holder nutritionist, to giving up his profession to turn into a successful Baba Nyonya entrepreneur artisan!
ABOUT KENNY LOH
Kenny Loh is a Nyonya Kebaya and Manek shoemaker, artist and photographer. A self-taught and born to be a natural artist, his drawings and paintings mostly vary around the Baba Nyonya Culture and Penang's Heritage and Culture. He is also the founder of Kenny Loh Couture and Penang Nyonya Culture by Nyonya Heritage Art.
He grew up in the modernity and Hokkien gusto of Penang, Malaysia and pursued his tertiary education, Master in Science, and became a nutritionist. However, art has always been a big part of him. Successfully injecting a breath of fresh air, he promotes the Baba Nyonya and Penang Heritage Culture to the people.
His artworks were previously used by one of Malaysia's famous fashion designer, Micheal Ooi, for his latest collection and showcase at Penang Fashion Week 2017. Kenny, was also invited to join various international events, much like George Town Festival, George Town Heritage Celebration, Hotel Jen Penang by Shangri-La's Jen Wy Art and other local ritual projects.
